Day 1 : Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Skoura Oases – Roses Valley – Boumalne Dades
We pick you up from the your Riad or Hotel and head to Dades Valley. Along the route pass over the High Atlaa (Tizi-n-Tichka) with a pause to take in the mountain views; visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou and continue through Skoura and ‘El Kelaa des M’Gouna’ (Rose Valley, which is renowned for the Festival of Roses in May when the roses blossom in the hedgerows). Leave the main route at Boumalene Dades to drive along the Dades Gorge. Overnight in a hotel with dinner and breakfast.
Day 2 : Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Tinjdad – Merzouga and Erg Chebbi
Return along Dades Gorge and head to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi Sand Sea, one of the largest in Morocco. Along the route pass detour at Tinghir to see Todra Gorge said to be the highest oasis valley gorge in the kingdom and lunch in the Berber village of Tinjdad or Rissani where the local speciality is ‘Berber Pizza’. After lunch head out to the dunes to camel trek in Erg Chebbi and sleep under the stars in a desert camp where, after dinner, there is a camp fire with traditional Berber drums.
Day 3 : Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifran – Fez
Sunrise camel trek back to the dune line to shower and breakfast. Back into the vehicle and continue across the Middle Atlas to Fes.
