Day 1 : Marrakech – Tizi -n-Tichka – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley/Gorges
9am departure from Marrakech to Dades Gorge. Travel over the High Atlas road pass of Tizi-n-Tichka (2260m with stop for views) to visit Kasbah el Glaoui in the Berber village of Telouet and continue along the old caravan route to Ait Benhaddou. In Ait Benhaddou visit the World Heritage Site, a spectacular ksour (walled village) well known as the backdrop for many films, including ‘Lawrence of Arabia’, ‘Gladiator’ and ‘Alexander’. Lunch in Ait Benhaddou or Ouarzazate and continue to Dades Gorge passing through Ouarzazate, Skoura and Rose Valley that is renowned for its Festival of Roses in May. Day 2 : Dades Gorges – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga Erg Chebbi
After breakfast transfer to one of Morocco’s highest sand seas: Erg Chebbi dunes where sits the village of Merzouga. Along the route detour at Tinerhir to see Todra Gorge, where tcliffs are 600m high and only 10m apart as the most narrow point, and lunch in Tinjdadd. Arrive at the dune line and camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes to sleep under the stars in a nomad-tented desert camp. Desert Camp with drumming, dinner and breakfast included
Day 3 : Return Camel Trekking – Atlas mountains – Back to Marrakech
After sunrise return camel trek to the dune line for breakfast and shower. Begin the long drive (10hrs+) through Tinjdad, Tinghir, Boumalne Dades, Ouarzazate and over the High Atlas to reach Marrakech that night.
